Why Iyengar Yoga?

Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar is the TIME 100 list of the world’s most influential people in 2004.

The Iyengar method practiced involves a unique combination of technical precision, the use of specific sequences of postures, and by working in the postures for a length of time, it enables the student to improve their mental and physical well-being.


Iyengar Yoga is also renowned throughout the world for its therapeutic approach to yoga. Its innovative use of supports or “props” modifying classical postures, allows students to feel the correct movement and action without stress and strain contributing to the student’s confidence, courage and clarity of each asana.

My name is Jayasankar. I'm not an office yoga teacher, but a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher with 15 years of teaching experience. I understand the work stress facing by the white-collar workers and the habit of sitting long hours at the work desk. The innovative use of supports I am learning from the practice of Iyengar method helps me a lot to discover the correct way of using supports and its purpose in yoga practice.
